Metro Comic Con: Marikit Cosplay Awards (Part 2)

Here is part 2 of the awards, since my bandwidth is being FAILZORZ. IF you haven’t seen PART 1  go here

daimos  Upon entering the comic convention, you would see this great mecha standing in the room. At first, I thought it was just a mecha, a prop but then, it moved. And I almost fell to the floor. Not only was he a reminder of my past crush on Kazuya.

Daimos is one of the first series that I truly followed from start to finish so this costume is awarded points for that.

Aside from that, the craftsmanship of this giant is amazing. I really wonder how the guy inside the mech could survive the con heat, standing so long inside that costume and giving us the attention. He is not only an attention grabber but, whoever made this costume should be given props to.

These cosplayers PWN because they were so in Character it was amazing. The best pictures come from the cosplayers who are so in character and portray their cosplayed characters to tee. These people win at these:

This award goes to the people who tried so hard to come up with a costume and did so with flair and creativity:

Fabulous Ninja wins for her creative and fabulous twist to the Naruto Ninja. Any native of Konoha knows that with her amazing huge kunai, tight fitting tights and leopard print hoodie, she will battle the fashion faux pas with style and grace.

This person totally wins at originality and is one of the gems that made me smile at the con.

DSC_5349Virgo  from Fairy Tail was played by this cute guy. But before you judge him and ask if he’s queer, stop- because he’s 100% male and was a brave soul for putting on a crossplay costume. GOOD JOB!  That is why he deserves a Medal of Honor for  Courage and Bravery to put this cute maid costume on.  And besides, doesn’t he look absolutely adorable?

The props and weapons of the following cosplayers are amazing and commendable for their serious craftsmanship. They deserve to be seen and to be known.

That’s it for the Marikit Awards. If you know any of these people, let them know that they PWN and that I totally am awe with all of them. 😀 They deserve to be featured and honored because after all, Cosplay is not only a hobby – it’s an art form.

A 30 something fangirl, writer, artist and dreamer, a princess by day and ninja by night who believes in magic, true love and wants to change the world one brush stroke at a time. Marikit is a self-taught artist learning more about art and the world around her.

  1. Hi! Thank you so much for the kind words on our Sucker Punch group. Mind if I add your solo picture of my Bunny Mecha to my ID? I really like the angle you took of it here.
